Shantana Hazel a Bridgeport Connecticut native, health advocate, international speaker and Yale cancer center community research fellow alumni period she is the founder & CEO of Sister girl foundation incorporated and an award-winning author of a new me mind-body soul health and wellness journal and 28 ways on how to advocate for your healthcare.
Shantana has been a strong advocate for health equity and a champion for health literacy for over 16 years. She empowers individuals through health and wellness support, education and advocacy with a strong focus on endometriosis, breast and gynecological cancers, and infertility. Her personal journey with endometriosis and infertility enduring over 16 surgeries, delayed diagnoses, gaslighting and medical neglect fuels her commitment to ensuring that women with chronic illnesses are heard, supported and received timely and adequate care.
Shantana continues to expand her impact by building meaningful relationships with hospitals, lawmakers, community and health leaders across the state of Connecticut and beyond. She works to reduce health disparities, amplify underserved voices and create programs that uplift and empower underrepresented communities to advocate effectively for their healthcare.
