About me
Oksana Reed was first diagnosed with stage 2B ER+ HER2- breast cancer in 2022 at age 24 while serving in the U.S. Air Force. She was diagnosed as stage 4 (oligometastatic) in 2024 at age 26 after liver metastasis was found via CT in 2023. The metastasis was surgically removed at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, making Oksana the first active-duty military member with stage 4 breast cancer to be treated with curative intent. She is passionate about increasing the representation of young patients in the stage 4 space and advocating for policy changes to improve patient access to quality cancer care and breast reconstruction.
